용존산소(dissolved oxygen)량 이란 무엇인가요?
| 용존산소는 수중에 용해되어 있는 산소량을 말합니다.
물에 용해하는 산소량은 온도 및 압력에 의해 좌우됩니다.
일반적으로 용액중에 용해하는 기체의 양은 용액에 녹아있는 용질의 농도가 높을수록 적어집니다.
또한 같은 농도의 용액이라 하더라도 용질의 종류에 따라 기체의 용해도가 다릅니다.
즉, 해수 및 경수는 순수에 비하여 산소의 용해도가 매우 적습니다.
수중에 유기물이 늘어나면 산소가 소비되어 그 양이 줄기 때문에 수질오염을 측정하는
지표가 됩니다. 용존산소는 하천 등의 자정작용이나 수중생물에 없어서는 안 됩니다. |
